How to Use Lace Tint Mousse for Flawless Wig Installs

Lace tint is not are placement for bleaching knots—and it’s important to know the difference. Bleaching helps to make the knots less visible, while lace tint is the final touch that brings it all together. It’s an essential step to achieving aseamless, natural looking finish that melts perfectly into your skin.

Our HeatHaus Lace Tint Mousse is designed to tone your lace with buildable coverage, giving you control over how light or rich the tone appears. Best of all, it’s unscented, making it perfect for sensitive clients or those who prefer fragrance-free products in their routine.

Step 1: Bleach the Knots (Optional, but Recommended)

Start by bleaching the knots on your lace closure or frontal. While this step is technically optional, we highly recommend it for the most seamless finish — especially if you’re working with HD or transparent lace. Bleaching lightens the knots, helping them disappear into the lace and mimicking the appearance of a natural scalp.

Once bleaching is complete, rinse thoroughly, shampoo to neutralize, and allow the lace to dry completely before moving on.

Step 2: Apply the Lace Tint Mousse

Once your lace is dry, it’s time to tint. Shake the bottle well, then apply the Lace Tint Mousse directly to the inside of the lace — this is the side that will sit against your scalp.

Use a dense makeup brush to apply the mousse evenly across the lace, focusing on areas like the hairline and parting space where the lace is most visible. Our formula is lightweight, easy to spread, and dries down beautifully without leaving buildup or residue.

Step 3: Build Your Ideal Tone

Dry the lace using a blow dryer on a low to medium heat setting, or allow it to air dry naturally. For a deeper or more customized tint, simply reapply the mousse in light layers and dry between each one until you reach the desired depth. (You can also mix shades to create custom shades)

Because the formula is buildable and fragrance-free, it’s perfect for sensitive skin and professional use — whether you’re prepping wigs for clients or styling your own at home.
